How to evaluate your spa experience before you arrive at the facility

Selecting the perfect spa can often times be a daunting decision for any spa-goer. If you’ve started your search online, you’ll be overwhelmed with a lengthy list of Toronto and Mississauga day spas to choose from. To make this selection process a bit easier, the service evaluation process should start as early as a phone call to the spa. Here are some suggestions to consider when selecting the best day spas in Toronto.

1.How is your spa enquiry handled?:

Usually the first channel of communication between yourself and the spa would be a telephone call or an online enquiry. Pay attention to the politeness and knowledge of the employee at the spa. Make sure your need is clearly understood by the person across the phone line.

2.Ask questions to gain clarity about your spa service or special needs:

In order to avoid service bloopers, make sure you go ahead and ask any and all service related questions. For instance, you may prefer the fragrance of lavender rather than rose or sandalwood, so inform the spa about it when booking. Enquire about the kinds of products that would be used on your skin. It is precious and needs pampering of the right kind. In case you have very sensitive skin or are allergic to certain products/ingredients; it’s in your best interest to share allergies with the person making the booking. Remind the staff at front-desk about special requests upon arrival at the spa. If you’re hesitant about removing your clothes for a massage, please let the spa know that it is your first massage service and they will take special care in making you feel comfortable. Some Spa’s may have different process for spa treatments,so asking questions beforehand will help you evaluate staff professionalism before you arrive at the spa for your treatment.

3.Critique service on the day of arrival:

In any part of the services industry, hospitality and staff professionalism is considered among the most important criteria to judge the company. The moment you enter a professional spa, which has hospitable people, you would have a smiling receptionist beckon you in, who will ensure that you are catered to immediately, greet you, offer you a seat while he or she informs others about your arrival. Following your service, fill out a comment card to rate your experience. Did the service exceed your expectations? How was the staff at front-desk?

4.Hygiene and Cleanliness:

Hygiene and cleanliness should be top priority at any Spa.For a few hours, spa rooms are a personal and very intimate space. Spa rooms should be clean and organized with sterilized equipment wherever necessary and freshly washed linen and towels. Therefore, never hesitate to ask if the sheets and towels have been changed or are fresh.

Here’s wishing you a blissful time during your spa service!
